How to Plan Visitor Flow on an Exhibition Stand

A good stand makes visitors feel where to go without telling them. This feeling is the result of a flow planned at the design stage.
Entrance, welcome and main focus
At the entrance the visitor should understand what the stand is about, see the welcome point a few steps later and then be led toward the main product or message. This sequence should be drawn at the planning stage.

Avoid bottlenecks
Narrow passages, furniture placed too tightly and walls that give no direction block the flow. In busy hours, a width where two people can pass side by side is the minimum reference.
Guiding light and floor
Light, floor colour and directional graphics guide visitors naturally. Important points can be kept brighter and transition areas calmer.
Quick checklist
- A clear entrance and welcome
- Sufficient passage width
- Guiding with light
- A separate opening for exit
